But once it hits critical mass, nothing can stop it from taking flight. But once the action gets underway, bright primary colors shake things up, letting the barrage of guns and explosives blow off some steam. Colorist Jordie Bellaire douses the background in muted colors to create a post-apocalyptic ambiance throughout the book. Panels of different shapes and sizes follow bloodshot every step of the way, filling details in bold outlines and adding to the volume. The first thing that artist Jon Davis-Hunt does is shed light on Bloodshot's home inside an inhospitable atmosphere, mimicking Bloodshot's own mindscape of tiny specks of happy recollections amongst a tomb of dreadful memories. What is an adults-only title without spectacular depictions of gore and gut-spilling violence? Bloodshot Unleashed #1 ticks all the above boxes in abundance.
